Darrell Henry

Darrell Henry is a founding partner in Conventions2020, having established the business in 2008. He brings a unique entrepreneurial and innovative perspective to public affairs advocacy and organizational management as an advisor to Fortune 50 companies, trade associations, non-profit organizations, and political campaigns.  Darrell utilizes his extensive experience at the federal and state levels, across multiple platforms, to achieve his clients’ objectives via lobbying, alliance development, coalition building, and government relations.

Darrell has served in leadership and management roles for several non-profit organizations, trade associations, campaigns, and government offices.  He has strong relationships in the U.S. Senate, the House of Representatives, and with political leaders and advocates across the country.  Darrell is a former aide to the Governor Wilson (CA), Governor Pataki (NY), and a U.S. Senator D’Amato (NY).  He has also managed several independent expenditure and Super PAC organizations.  He is  Of-Counsel to Gavel Resources, a Washington, DC based Government Relations firm and also runs two non-profit organizations, the Western Caucus Foundation and the Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Coalition.
Previously, Darrell ran his own firm, ROQ Strategies, for seven years serving clients primarily on natural resource related legislative and regulatory issues.  Darrell has also managed the Washington, DC office for the former Western Business Roundtable and served as the Director of Public Affairs at the American Gas Association (AGA). He is a former Chairman of the National Energy Resource Organization (NERO), which is a non-partisan group engaged in dialogue on energy issues.
Darrell earned a BA from The American University and a Masters of Public Administration with honors in Intergovernmental Management and Policy at the University of Southern California.
